Landmark 10-Billion-Yuan Project in Zhuhai Nears Completion After 198 Days of Construction
On November 15th, the SoleFiori new heterojunction solar cell and module production base (hereinafter referred to as the SoleFiori) celebrated the preliminary handover of its factory building and the commencement of production equipment installation ceremony. The customized factory building, after overcoming 198 days of construction challenges, has been successfully handed over and is poised for production commencement.
SoleFiori Technology Company was jointly established by Zhuhai Fuhong Energy, Primavera Capital, Gree Group, and Doumen District State-owned Assets. The SoleFiori Heterojunction (HJT) project commenced construction in April 2023 with a total investment of approximately 6.3 billion yuan. It encompasses a total planned construction area of about 300,000 square meters, including battery production workshops, module production workshops, warehouses, production auxiliary buildings, comprehensive buildings, and office buildings. The area of the factory buildings partially delivered this time is approximately 100,000 square meters.
On the day of the ceremony, the custom-built factory housing SoleFiori 's completed heterojunction project presented a scene of eager anticipation, with workers on-site hastening to install and commission the equipment. In the coming period, they will successively bring in and prepare equipment for processes such as cleaning and texturing, PECVD, PVD, laminators, string welders, EL testers, and module framing machines, ensuring the project is fully ready for production launch.
The project, as the production base for SoleFiori's new heterojunction (HJT) solar cells and modules in Zhuhai, has the capacity to produce 8GW of solar cells and 5GW of modules annually. Phase one is set to commence by the end of 2023, with phases two and three scheduled to follow before the end of 2024. Upon full production, the project is expected to achieve an annual output value exceeding 10 billion RMB, with an after-tax profit of approximately 800 million RMB and annual tax revenue of around 500 million RMB. Additionally, the project aims to attract at least 30 doctoral-level talents to Zhuhai, further strengthening the upstream and downstream industrial chain in the photovoltaic new energy sector.
Doumen District and investors like Gree Group have shown great attention and provided ample support, which has accelerated our project's path to production and efficiency. This gives us full confidence in the bright prospects of our development in Zhuhai," said the responsible person from SoleFiori. "In the future, the company will continue to focus on the manufacturing of new high-efficiency heterojunction solar cells and modules with low energy consumption and low carbon emissions. We will concentrate on leading industries such as new energy and chemicals, accelerate the comprehensive production process with support from all parties, and further strengthen our core advantages through increased investment in technology research and market expansion. This will help Zhuhai establish itself as a global competitive force and a demonstration hub for the photovoltaic new energy industry.
