Jiang Qingtang PhD
The founder of SoleFiori holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Peking University and a Ph.D. in physics from Rutgers University. With more than ten years of experience in chip-level semiconductors and nearly two decades in the solar photovoltaic industry, dr. Jiang has served as a senior executive of many world-renowned energy companies and is a well-known leader in China's semiconductor and photovoltaic fields.
At present, new energy industry is in a stage of rapid development in China. As a national strategic priority, photovoltaics have attracted much attention. As of the end of 2023, the country's total installed solar power capacity is approximately 609.49GW, ranking first in the world for 10 consecutive years. With the country's strong policy support and the joint efforts of the whole society, the scale of my country's photovoltaic industry continues to expand, the technical level continues to improve, and it plays an increasingly important role in the global energy transformation process.
In this context, heterojunction technology, as the forefront of the photovoltaic field, shows significant advantages. Its theoretical conversion efficiency is as high as 28.9%, and it can achieve double-sided power generation with a double-sided rate of up to 95%. In addition, the heterojunction has excellent properties such as low temperature coefficient, slow performance attenuation at high temperatures, salt spray resistance, no PID, and long service life. At the same time, the good low-light effect makes it suitable for various lighting conditions. Compared with other industries, the manufacturing process of heterojunction batteries is relatively mature, production is simple, and the carbon footprint is clean. What’s more worth mentioning is that heterojunctions can be stacked with perovskite and back-contact batteries, bringing new opportunities for future stacked cell research and development.
